Preserving Health and Immunity

Picture
One of the great gifts of Chinese medicine is its ability to help us  preserve the good health we have and  improve our  health and quality of life regardless of age.  It is common that as  the original condition that brought us to treatment improves, so too do other areas of our health.   For example, we may seek treatment for a pain condition, but in the course of treatment, our energy, digestion, and sleep improve, and we feel more calm.  For this reason, many patients go on to make Chinese medicine part of their regular health regime.

Chinese medicine is an ancient diagnostic system that recognizes patterns in an individual.   Usually these are long standing patterns that have been with us our whole lives. For example,  some people feel cold, gain weight easily, and sleep well.  Others are thin,  warm, and have difficulty sleeping and relaxing.  These patterns are known as our  constitution. Chinese medicine has specific diet, herbal,  and exercise  recommendations for every constitution.  Armed with this knowledge, we have the opportunity  to give our body  what it needs  to preserve our  vitality  for many years to  come.   Christina particularly enjoys educating  her patients about the ways they can support their personal constitution to preserve their long-term health.
