Our Approach

Picture
Ideally,  most  couples begin preconception planning  three to four months prior to attempting pregnancy.  The lifestyle of  women during this time affects not only egg quality, ovulation, and implantation,   but also the development of their future child.   Environmental, lifestyle, health, and age factors prior to conception also affect the quantity and quality of sperm in the same way.  For this reason, couples are encouraged to work together on their health, regardless of fertility diagnosis.  Our unique approach addresses...
  • Acupuncture and herbal treatment for optimal fertility in both partners
  • Menstrual cycle regularity (especially important after discontinuing oral contraception)
  •  Hormonal balance
  • Reducing exposure to environmental toxins that may affect fertility
  • Reviewing fertility indicators so as to time intercourse appropriately
  • Optimizing lifestyle and environmental factors affecting the health and fertility of each partner
  • Nutritional needs for optimal fertility of each partner
  • Symptom management during physician-supervised withdrawal from depression or other medications prior to conception
  • Preparation and support for IVF/IUI cycles, if indicated
  • Interfacing with other practitioners for the best care

Addressing these issues improves the overall health of both parents, shortens the time to conception, reduces the likelihood of miscarriage and complications during pregnancy or delivery, and provides healthier birth outcomes.    Read more...
