Updated Clinic COVID Safety (August 2021)
In accordance with the CDC, and the Department of Health, we have implemented several clinic wide policies to insure the safety of all patients and providers.
Scheduling and cancellation: If you are ill, potentially ill, or exposed to someone who is ill, please stay home and we will convert your appointment to telemedicine or reschedule the appointment without charge. In the time of COVID, proactively treating even mild upper respiratory or GI illness is the best preventative measure we have. We have significant experience treating COVID like symptoms and long COVID symptoms through our work on at the Seattle Institute of East Asian Medicine. I am happy to prescribe herbal medicine to you as an existing patient via tele-health alongside the care of your primary care physician to assist in recovery.
Screening: Please refrain from coming to the clinic if you have had a known exposure to COVID 19 illness or ANY COVID, flu, or other upper respiratory symptoms in the last 14 days. Before each visit you will be sent a questionnaire asking if you have had any of these symptoms in the last 48 hour. If you have had them, please contact us right away and we will convert the appointment to telemedicine or reschedule it.
• Cough or runny nose
• Shortness of breath
• Fever
• NEW Sore throat
• NEW GI symptoms
• NEW Fatigue
• NEW Body Aches (not related to working out)
• NEW Loss of Smell or taste
Vaccination
All providers in out office are fully vaccinated and several of us have high risk family members or are high risk ourselves. We strongly encourage vaccination of all patients unless their primary care physician has recommended otherwise. If you are a new unvaccinated patient or we have not seen you in the last two years, you will be referred to another clinic. If you are an existing patient who is unvaccinated, please call me to discuss your situation and options.
Masks
The state o f Washington mandates that all patients and healthcare providers must wear masks in medical facilities. Please come to your appointment wearing a mask for the duration of your time in the clinic, unless you have a medical condition that excludes its use. If you cannot wear a mask, please talk with us beforehand to determine the safest treatment for you. If you do not have one, we will provide you with one at no charge.
Waiting Room and Social Distance in the Clinic
1. Please stay in your car or outside until your provider comes to get you for your appointment. You are welcome to come inside to use the restroom if you need it before the appointment. You will have the choice to be seen on the porch for the consultation part of your appointment on the porch outside the office if you wish.
2. Best efforts will be made to have only one patient in common areas at a time while you are here. We are not currently using the waiting room, waiting room water, chairs or linens to limit exposure.
3. There will be hand sanitizer in the waiting area Please use it when you arrive and before you leave. Of course, there is also a sink with soap and water in the bathroom that everyone may use for hand washing.
4. We are grateful that we have many open windows in our clinic and we will be making full use of the air flow from outside to reduce our exposure risk. We also have high powered HEPA filters designed for much larger spaces to increase efficiency installed in every room of the clinic.
Thank you for your understanding. May you and yours remain safe and well. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Warmly ,
Christina Jackson, DAHM, L.Ac.
